More than 160 content creators and influencers gathered at the headquarters of the East-Central Africa Division (ECD) in Nairobi, Kenya, on 19 August 2026 for the opening of the ECD Content Creators Summit.

Dr. Moses Maka, then ECD Executive Secretary and now ECD President, invited Elder Yohannes Olana, ECD Treasurer, to deliver the keynote message.
Speaking for God in a listening world

Basing his message on Isaiah 58:1, Elder Olana reminded the creators that the world is listening and that their content is a vehicle for mission. He described them as influencers, ambassadors and watchmen who shape how people think and where they turn their attention.
He challenged them to ask whether their platforms bring division or unity, promote themselves or glorify God, and add noise or communicate truth. Rather than competing with other voices, he said, they should stay faithful to God’s voice.
Pointing to Acts 4:20, where Peter and John said they could not stop speaking about what they had seen and heard, he stressed that sharing the gospel is not reserved for pastors or professional communicators. The goal of media, he added, is not reach alone but real impact and transformation, like the angels of Revelation carrying the everlasting gospel to the world.
Three responsibilities
Elder Olana left the creators with three responsibilities:
- Identity: knowing who they are and whose they are, rooted in Christ.
- Unity: one mission across different countries, cultures, languages and platforms.
- Mission: every believer and every platform can become a point of contact for sharing the gospel.
He closed with an urgent call to every creator: “Lift your voice!”
The Rwanda Union Mission encourages Adventist content creators across Rwanda to use their platforms to share hope and the everlasting gospel.
